Our Story

Why we're bucking the muck.

Since 1960, Bellingham Christian School has partnered with Christian families in Whatcom County, providing Christian education of high academic quality that promotes authentic Christian character among students who will impact the world for Christ.

The Sunset Campus is home to both our elementary and middle school students — middle school in the upper campus and elementary in the lower campus. The kids who learn and play here deserve to spend recess running, not waiting for the field to dry. Today, that field is more mud than grass for most of the school year. Recess gets moved indoors. PE gets cut short. Field days get cancelled. And the kids miss out on the simple, formative joy of playing outside together.

The Project

We're replacing the muddy field with a year-round turf surface — a safe, durable place for our elementary and middle school students to play, learn, and grow. Target opening day: September 1, 2026.

The Foundation Match

The BCS Foundation — a 501(c)(3) non-profit devoted to advancing the school's mission through story, partnership, and stewardship — has already committed $248,000, exactly half of the project. Every dollar the community raises brings the full vision closer.

Two Ways to Give

Part A · Business & Field Sponsorships. Name the field, claim an advertising board, or join the Recognition Board. Goal: $113,000.

Part B · Community Square Foot Campaign. $6.75 per square foot, with 20,000 sq ft of new turf to claim. Dedicate your gift in honor of, in memory of, to your family, or to an alumni class. Goal: $136,000.

A Foundation You Can Trust

God's provision through community generosity has allowed this mission to flourish for more than sixty years. The BCS Foundation stewards long-term facility and program investments so each generation of BCS students is set up to thrive.
